part of the public evenings Astronomical Society Fiorentina (SAF) NGO, organizes Tuesday, October 7th, 2008 at 21.15 at his home , a conference entitled "Death of a star - the final stages of stellar evolution " . The last moments of a star are among the most spectacular events of nature. The conference will see the different phases and the different outcomes that will meet a star when finished its nuclear fuel will start to its end, for stars massive enough, will be through the explosion of a supernova. In particular, the conference will, as in a movie, what happens inside the core of stars of various sizes explaining, in simple and intuitive way, through the fundamental principles of quantum physics and relativity.
The conference, with free entry , will be held in Florence at the Hall of Astronomy "Francesco Marsili " within the Comprehensive Eugenio Barsanti with access to Long Street, 94 corner Via Simone Martini (in front of the circle the towers).
